What kind of coffee is there?
In Vietnam, there are many popular types of coffee, each with a unique flavor. Here are some types of coffee grown and used in our country:
Arabica coffee (also known as tea coffee):
Arabica coffee beans are a bit long, usually grown in Lam Dong, at an altitude of 800 meters or more above sea level. Most delicious when planted from 1300 – 1500 meters.
Vietnamese Arabica coffee includes 2 main types: Catimor and Moka. Moka coffee has a light aroma, pale taste. Catimor coffee has a strong aroma, a slight sour taste.
Famous Arabica coffee business brands include Me Trang, Trung Nguyen, The JUN, and many others.
Robusta coffee (also known as tap coffee):
Grown mainly in the Central Highlands, especially basalt lands (Gia Lai, Dak Lak) with altitudes below 600 meters.
Robusta coffee beans are quite small, have a mild aroma, bitter taste, high caffeine. Suitable for Vietnamese taste.
Famous coffee brands selling Robusta coffee include Me Trang, H'ren, TNI King Coffee, and many others.
Culi Coffee:
Loi coffee has large, glossy round seeds, and there is only a single seed in each fruit.
Bitter taste, seductive aroma, high caffeine content, thick black water.
Popular loris coffee brands include Moc, Rita Vo Cafe, Bui Van Ngo Da Lat, Lion, and many others.
Cherry coffee (also known as jackfruit coffee):
Grown in the Highlands of Vietnam and has good resistance to pests and diseases, gives high yields.
There are 2 main types: Liberica and Exelsa. Coffee beans are yellow, shiny, have a faint aroma when brewed and have a slight sour taste.
